great image can make your mind go back to a place and time where you
may have a feeling or the essence of something in your past. And the
experience of your reflection feels like a long lost old friend that has
returned, if only for a fleeting moment.
Great photographers know they must push for that something extra, that difference that will make their images connect to the viewers. It's not about competition; it's not about money, it's about communicating a feeling.
I feel art, if honestly and passionately perused will teach artist about them. They will go through the stages of buying equipment; learning techniques, emulating other artist, but eventually, while in pursuit of their vision, will return full circle to themselves. The artist might ask themselves, "what is it about me, that I perceive a thing the way I do"?
The journey towards creating our art is the teacher, imagery is the communicator, and the message is from The Soul.
